Islanders Win State 3A Title!!!!

What an incredible ride for this team and coaches!  In a packed Gesa Stadium, the Islanders came out swinging and took an early lead over Kennewick that was held by the excellent pitching of junior Evan Otte, sharp catching of senior Halen Otte, and solid defense all around. Surrounded by fans who travelled to Pasco for the game, the team battled and stayed on top and clinched the win 8-4.  In relief, junior Jack Beebe came in to pitch the first two outs in the seventh.  Senior captain Jack Varney made a diving catch in centerfield to earn the second out.  And senior captain Governor Aufranc threw his first pitches of the season after working back from an injury that happened just before the season to earn the final strikeout in an emotional finale securing the W for the Islanders.  Congratulations to the players and coaches and thank you to our amazing fans who supported this team through it all!
